One-week environmental and social management workshop for project staff

Held a one-week workshop with project staff on environmental and social management, using case studies and return on experience from engineers and project managers.

Context

Project teams needed a practical learning format to strengthen day-to-day application of environmental and social management requirements across planning and implementation activities.

Challenge

  • Staff had mixed levels of familiarity with environmental and social management methods
  • Technical guidance needed to be translated into practical tools teams could use immediately
  • Lessons learned from field implementation were not consistently captured and shared

Intervention

  • Designed and delivered a one-week workshop combining theory sessions and applied group work
  • Used project-based case studies to practice risk identification, mitigation planning, and follow-up
  • Integrated return on experience from engineers and project managers to connect guidance to real constraints
  • Facilitated team discussions to define clear next steps for improving implementation consistency

Outcome

  • Improved staff confidence in applying environmental and social management requirements
  • Stronger shared understanding of practical methods across technical and project teams
  • Clearer operational actions identified to reinforce implementation quality after the workshop
